Executive Coaching

The ICF (International Coaching Federation) Definition of Coaching

“Professional coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses, or organizations. Through the process of coaching, clients deepen their learning, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life.”

In each meeting, the client chooses the focus of conversation, while the coach listens and contributes observations and questions. This interaction creates clarity and moves the client into action. Coaching accelerates the client’s progress by providing greater forces and awareness of choice. Coaching concentrates on where clients are now and what they are willing to do to get where they want to be in the future. ICF member coaches and ICF-credentialed coaches recognize that the results are a matter of the client’s intentions, choices, and actions, supported by the coach’s efforts and application of the coaching process.” (See Co-Active Coaching: New Skills for Coaching People Toward Success in Work and Life, 2nd Edition by Laura Whitworth, Karen Kimsey-House, Henry Kimsey-House, and Phillip Sandahl.)

Is coaching different from therapy? Yes!

Coaching is not only about the here and now but also about the future. Although a coach cannot help fix the past and should not try to, all good coaches help you move forward in your lives. Coaching focuses on your dreams and visions and how to achieve them.

Is coaching right for you?

Do you need to think out of the box? Do you want to explore what is truly possible and what you really want? Would you like to look at your priorities and define your personal and professional goals? Do you want to visualize and achieve your desired life journey? Coaching can address these issues.

Executive Coaching with Lisa

What sets Lisa apart is her ability to challenge current ideas, foster internal creativity, and nurture self-awareness.

As an executive coach, she functions as confidant, accountability partner, conscience, personal trainer, and cheerleader.

Most people Lisa works with experience major transformations in their lives. All learn how to re-prioritize and achieve better and more satisfying life/work balances. They are able to live the lives they love and love the lives they live.

The Coaching Process

Coaching is a two-way street and requires active participation. It is a relationship that requires that you are motivated to change and that you and your coach put forth best efforts to make the relationship work.

To that end, Lisa uses the coaching Co-Active™ Model, from CTI, which was updated in 2012.

The four cornerstones of the model are as follows, people:

  • Are naturally creative, resourceful, and whole
  • Can dance in this moment; the present is what is important
  • Can transform, that is shift consciousness and evolve
  • Can focus on their whole being, that is, engage heart, brain, emotions, spirit, and body

In this model, Lisa uses her listening skills, intuition, and curiosity to deepen learning and further transformative activity.

Lisa follows these steps. She

  • Works to establish a strong alliance with you during the initial Discovery Session. The session includes an exercise to assess levels of satisfaction, both personal and professional in eight life areas.

Both of you are intimately involved in designing the coaching relationship that will be most beneficial.

  • Helps you define your specific personal and professional goals and to ensure those goals are aligned with your needs and values.
  • Schedules your support sessions. She gently holds you accountable for your progress. She is there for you – to celebrate your success and accomplishments. She helps you design solutions when you encounter obstacles. You will feel enabled and motivated to continue your journey.

Although support sessions are important, much of the transformation takes place between sessions – when you complete assignments. These guide you to the next steps.
