Watch out, NYU, because here comes John Robert Sasso! We are bursting with pride to share that John Robert (or JR, as we all call him), has been accepted into the Summer School at NYU’s Tisch School of Performing Arts in New York City. He’ll be spending the entire month of July there, diving into an incredible four-week adventure!
JR will be taking classes every day, and in the evenings, he and his fellow students will get to watch various shows. It’s an intense and rigorous program, but we know he’s more than up for the challenge. This program is highly competitive. JR had to complete a detailed application, submit his academic transcript, and showcase his talents in singing, dancing, and acting. And let me tell you, he shines in all three areas!
Not only is JR a triple threat on stage, but he’s also an A student. He has worked tirelessly over his first three years at Landmark High School to maintain his impressive GPA. Just in the last month, he’s taken on major roles, including being one of the main characters in “Descendants” at the North Shore Music Theater. He’s also performing in “9 to 5” with Broken Leg Productions and serving as Assistant Director for “Into the Woods” with the New England School of Performing Arts (NESPA).
But that’s not all! One of his biggest achievements this year was organizing the Dance Club at Landmark and driving the “Evening of DANCE.” JR was the Student Director, Lead Choreographer, and even performed in four numbers, including a stunning solo to Billy Joel’s “New York State of Mind.” He wrote a heartfelt Director’s note in the program booklet. JR’s dedication, talent, and hard work have truly paid off, and we couldn’t be prouder of all he has accomplished. New York City, get ready – JR is coming your way!
