Valentine’s Day is more than just a Hallmark holiday—it’s a timeless celebration of love, devotion, and the people who make our lives special. Rooted in history, this day has long been a symbol of romance and heartfelt connection, reminding us to cherish those we hold dear. Whether it’s a spouse, a child, a parent, a sibling, a friend, or a neighbor, love in all its forms deserves to be celebrated.
For John and me, today marks our 41st Valentine’s Day together—a number that still feels surreal. From the moment we became high school sweethearts, we knew our love was something special. Looking back, we just knew—even then—that we were meant to be together for life.
Recently, I came across a photo from one of our first proms, a picture that perfectly captured our young love. The setting was almost made for Valentine’s Day—the deep reds and soft pinks in the background, my formal gown with tiny pink hearts, and of course, John and I with our big ‘80s hair. That night, as the sweet melody of “Almost Paradise” played in the background, it felt like our hearts had found their perfect soundtrack—a moment so magical that it still resonates decades later.
To John, my forever Valentine—from our first dance to now, you have always been my greatest love and my best friend. Through every chapter of life, you’ve been my partner, my rock, and my heart’s home. I wouldn’t trade a single moment of our journey for anything. Here’s to all the memories we’ve made and to the many more still to come.
Happy Valentine’s Day to all! May your hearts be full, your memories be sweet, and your love—wherever it may be—stand the test of time, just as ours has.
