To me, Thanksgiving is about family and friends hanging out together and sharing a bountiful meal together—a special holiday that people of all faiths can celebrate together. I know that my faith has helped me to get through tough times, like the loss of my beloved Nana Tosi and Papa Sasso.
Thanksgiving is also about giving thanks for all our blessings. I really have a lot to be thankful for. Every day, I’m especially grateful for my 89-year-old mother-in-law and my 88- year-old father. I love talking to both of them each and every day; sometimes we even talk multiple times a day. And I have a caring husband and an incredibly talented miracle son. This month is the 13-year anniversary of John Robert (JR’s) first open-heart surgery. He is doing fantastic. He excels in both school and also in the performing arts.
As you can see from this recent photo of my family, we enjoy being together, and I can’t wait to sit down with them to bow our heads in thanks for our blessings – and then enjoy a bountiful feast – once again this year.
