My Dad was my 1st Coach!

Happy Father’s Day!

“A girl’s father is the first man in her life, and probably the most influential.” — David Jeremiah

I wanted to share a personal Father’s Day Greeting to all the great dads out there, and also pay homage to those no longer with us. As the saying goes, “Father knows best.”  Dads always seem to know the right thing to say and do, and they share their knowledge generously with their kids and grandkids.

Dads are certainly special role models.  I’m thinking of Papa Sasso, who is no longer with us – and this will be our first Father’s Day without him. He was an amazing man who was loved by all.  He would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it.  He loved his 3 kids and adored his 4 grandchildren.  He will always be there with us in spirit.

This Father’s Day, I’m blessed to have my 87-year-old father (Papa Tosi) still with us.  He was my very first coach, and now I have coached hundreds of people.  Through the years, he’s always been a loving and supportive dad to all 3 of his kids, both as we were growing up and as adults.  He’s also a very proud grandfather of 4. He tries to attend as many games, races, recitals and plays as he possibly can. He’s our rock!  When he says that he’s coming, he shows up.  He has coached me on life, and I know that he is always there for me.

coachJune is, of course, not only the month for honoring our dads, but it’s also the month for weddings – and in my family we’ve been blessed with June weddings that have lasted a lifetime.  This June 12th would have been my parents’ 57th anniversary; they were married for 54 wonderful years.  My mom and dad taught us to be good parents and how to be a good spouse and love one another. I also learned how to love from my in-laws, who were married for 59 blissful years.

And on June 20th, John and I will celebrate having been married for 31 wonderful years.  We learned how to create a love story from all our parents.  It seems like just yesterday my dad was walking me down the aisle and we were doing our father-daughter dance.

God bless all the fathers.  My husband, John, is an incredible dad to our son.  Even though John Robert is a typical teenager in many ways, he actually adores and respects his dad!

Enjoy your day with your family.  Your thoughts and comments are always appreciated.  If you need your own coach and want to book at time with me, https://bookme.name/LisaSasso.
With gratitude and best wishes!
