March is the Month for Luck and for Our Many Blessings in 2024!

“I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it.”
– Thomas Jefferson

March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, and I believe everybody deserves to be Irish for the day—and of course, it’s great to be eclebrating luck in March. Do you celebrate March 17th? Whether you do or not, that day is a great time to think about what role the concept of luck plays in your own life. Is it important to you?

There’s certainly plenty of room for disagreement on how important luck is. For example, some people may tell me that my son, John Robert (JR) is “a very lucky 16-year-old.” That may very well be, but I know that in order to maintain the amazing level of accomplishment in his theatrical work that he’s already reached, he puts forth plenty of effort.

Clebrating luck in MArchTake this month, for example: The first week in March we got to see JR’s outstanding choreography in Beauty & the Beast at North Andover High School. This program has been a paid staff position as choreographer for the show since January. He was responsible for all the dancing in the entire show. We were so very proud of him.

It’s incredible how talented he is. He was able to have the high school kids bring his vision to life on the stage. He really puts his whole heart and soul into everything that he does. Everyone was very professional, and the teens all did a great job. His rendition of “Be our Guest” was absolutely amazing. John Robert’s having kept to his commitment – of spending 2 afternoons every week on this production since the new year began – really paid off. The musical was a great success.

And coming up next, JR will be performing at The North Shore Music Theater (NSMT) the first week in April. He was cast as Carlos – in the Disney movie Descendants. He is one of the main kids in the production. Being cast by NSMT is a big deal, and we are very proud of him.

How does he manage to do it all, and do it so well? Is it luck? Or hard work – or maybe a combination of both? That’s for him to decide, but as for me, I believe I am both blessed and lucky to have my miracle son JR in my life, as well as my loving husband John.

My first date with my husband was almost 40 years ago. I consider myself lucky to have found true love at the young age of 15. However, I feel that the success of our marriage is due not only to luck, but also to the work and effort we have put into it.

I mention this not only to share my blessings with you but also to remind you again to consider the role that luck may play in your life: perhaps you’ll discover that you really deserve a healthy pat on the back for something you’d previously thought was just a random stroke of luck—or, on the other hand, maybe some loss that you’d blamed on bad luck which – now that you rethink it – might have happened because you just didn’t put in the necessary effort.

Finally, whatever role you believe luck plays in your life, please take a moment to be grateful for all the luck and blessings that you have in your life. Take a minute to reflect on how fortunate you are.

I am lucky to have you in my community. Thank you for all your support. I am always happy to offer you a free mini consult if you need my help.

Wishing you continued blessings today and every day.
