“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something.” Brian Tracy

I left a company that I built and loved to achieve a bigger goal: to have a child and to be a mother.

After many years of working in Cardiology-focused medical device companies, I gave birth to a baby boy with a severe cardiac defect.

The defect resulted in a greatly enlarged heart (cardiomegaly), that was subject to episodes of SVT (super ventricular tachycardia). Our son was on multiple medications until he was 3.5 years old. Then on November 5th, he underwent Open Heart Surgery to repair the defect. The miracle of modern medicine is simply amazing. This year we celebrated the 5 year Anniversary of his successful surgery. Talk about gratitude.

During the month of November, I always dedicate my Motivational Message to giving thanks for something important and for appreciating the people and things in your life.

Before I had my son, I had many special people in my life, but no children. I had a dedicated husband, loving parents & in-laws, and many caring family members and supportive friends. However, I never realized how much my own heart could expand and grow until our little miracle entered our lives.

It was simply magical.

Now at 8.5 years old, he still has an enlarged heart. However, now his “big” heart is obvious to everyone that knows him. They all understand what I mean.

Luckily, his condition doesn’t seem to get in the way of him playing Basketball, or participating in Drama, Singing, Swimming and Cub Scouts. He is running around with all the other 3rd graders and enjoying a normal life. He also loves playing with his friends, riding his bike and playing the Wii.

I have so much to be thankful for. I transitioned into Coaching after having my son and knowing that at the time, I could not leave my helpless baby to go back as an Executive in the Corporate world. I had already learned what having an Attitude of Gratitude was about and sharing lessons learned with others was part of my quest.

What are you really thankful for in your life?

  • Is it a person or people?
  • Is it your job or your career?
  • Is it your creator?
  • Or is it something else?

Whatever it is, don’t be ashamed to show your thanks, your appreciation and your joy to what or who brings you the most happiness in your life.

I also want to reach out and say thank you to you my coaching community. I have had the pleasure of coaching many of you and know you both personally and professionally. I also appreciate you for reading my monthly messages and sharing your thoughts and comments with me and also passing it on to others. I am grateful that we can communicate monthly. My coaching business has grown tremendously and I absolutely love the work that I do. It allows me to have balance in my life and to be there to walk my son to school and also to take him to his many activities after school. Finally, I thank you for your support and for the recommendations and referrals that have impacted my business so positively. It is a pleasure serving you.

You are each part of my coaching family and I am honored and humbled to work with you. I am appreciative for the opportunity. It is a pleasure doing this incredible work and empowering you to achieve your personal and professional goals with balance.
